
Seven Summits Women Team
The Seven Summits Women Team is the first female team in the world to climb the highest mountain in each continent. In an epic journey starting from the summit of Mt Everest, the team has climbed successfully in all seven continents.
The members originally came together as part of the historic ‘First Inclusive Women Sagarmatha Expedition 2008 Spring’. Despite various socio-economic challenges the team became the most successful women’s expedition to ever summit Mt Everest in May 2008 with all members making it to the top of the world, a rare feat in any mountaineering expedition.
Seven members from the team then continued on a bigger journey, to climb the 7 summits, this time building a platform not only for the team members but for the women and youth across the world-

The Team
The 7 team members hailing from 6 diverse ethnic backgrounds each have a story of challenge, struggle and success. The mission is about ordinary women in an extraordinary journey demonstrating that everyone has the power climb their mountains be it a real one or metaphorical. The team comprises of Shailee Basnet, Maya Gurung, Asha Kumari Singh, Chunu Shrestha, Pujan Acharya, Nimdoma Sherpa and Pema Diki Sherpa.
